Master the critical first minutes of your run. This phase is all about survival, building a solid foundation, and setting yourself up for mid-game success.
The early game (minutes 0-8) is the most critical phase of any Megabonk run. This is where most runs fail, and it's not because of poor buildsβit's because players don't prioritize survival.
During these first minutes, your character is at its weakest. You have minimal items, low damage output, and enemies can quickly overwhelm you if you're not careful. The key to success isn't trying to maximize damageβit's about staying alive long enough to reach the mid-game power spike.
Think of early game as an investment phase. Every decision you make should answer one question: "Does this help me survive until minute 8?" If yes, take it. If not, skip it.
Not all characters are created equal in early game. These characters excel at surviving the first 8 minutes and transitioning smoothly into mid-game.
RNG Blessing: +1% Luck per level
Excellent starting character with Firestaff for safe ranged combat. Luck scaling opens up powerful synergies with crit builds and on-hit effects later.
RNG Blessing: +1% Armor per level
The ultimate survival character. Starts with Sword for close combat and naturally gains armor every level. Perfect for players learning game mechanics.
RNG Blessing: Stuns enemies, -0.2s cooldown per level
Area control specialist. Aura weapon stuns enemies and prevents damage, giving you breathing room in crowded situations.
RNG Blessing: +1% Damage per level
Simple but effective. Damage scales automatically every level, making early game easier as you progress. Great for aggressive playstyles.
CL4NK, Ninja, Calcium: These characters are powerful but require specific items and game knowledge to survive early game. Save them for when you're more experienced.
Item selection in early game should prioritize survival above all else. Here's your priority list:
Forbidden Juice, Giant Fork, Boss Buster: These are powerful but require a build to support them. They don't help you survive early game. Wait until minute 8+ to pick these up.
Your starting weapon is usually fine for early game. Don't overcomplicate weapon choicesβfocus on upgrading your starter and adding ONE complementary weapon by minute 5-6.
